You know that idea you have?
The one you can't stop thinking about, that keeps tugging at you, that just won't let go of you no matter how big or hard or impossible it seems?
Yeah, that one.
Let's do it.

Through online meetings, guided tasks, and 1-on-1 advising, I'll help you wrap your arms around the project, articulate your purpose, uncover the most important pieces to focus on, work through the inevitable obstacles and pivots, and make real progress toward bringing your vision to life. All you need to get started is your idea and your passion.
I only accept a limited number of people at once, and I want to make sure this program is a fit for you, so there is an application process (it's free). To start, all you have to do is answer a few questions. There's no commitment unless and until you decide to register.

FAQ
Who can apply?
Anyone with:
- An idea for an artistic, educational, or benevolent project (or even a combo).
- A goal to create something.
And I mean create in the broadest possible sense here: do you seek to bring something into existence? That something might be tangible, like a piece of art or a publication or a website; or it might be more abstract, like an event or a class or an entirely new business or nonprofit. It can even be a purely personal project that no one will ever see but you. The context and details don’t matter. All that matters is that you seek to bring something into existence.
Since space in the program is limited, I do prioritize nature-based ideas and projects, but if your idea is even a little bit, kinda, sorta related to nature, I encourage you to apply; if I don't think it's a fit, I'll let you know. And even if your idea isn't a fit for the full program, I'd still love to support you and your idea this way.
What counts as an artistic idea / project / creation?
Your creation is artistic if it results in something tangible that others can see, hear, smell, taste, or feel.
I know that’s a super wide-ranging definition for “artistic” but that’s intentional. Art can mean different things to different people, but I like this definition: a work created by human skill.
And humans can be skilled in such diverse ways: the myriad visual arts, from classics like pottery and painting to more modern arts like photography or graphic design; practical arts like interior design or fashion; performing arts like dance or theatre; writing in its many, many forms, including writing code; interdisciplinary efforts like filmmaking or game design; music; engineering; architecture; cooking; product design… truly, this list could go on forever.
Long story short: an artistic creation results in a work that someone can experience or use.
What counts as an educational idea / project / creation?
Your creation is educational if it’s a means to provide instruction or information to others. You might provide that through a physical object (like a book or magazine), a digital object (like a website or online course), or an event (like an in-person class or presentation). The medium doesn’t matter; if your goal is to educate, your creation is educational.
What counts as a benevolent idea / project / creation?
Your creation is benevolent if it does good for someone or something. Nonprofit endeavors are typically benevolent, but benevolent doesn’t automatically mean nonprofit; entrepreneurial projects can be benevolent, too. (For-profit and doing good are not mutually exclusive.) Scientific endeavors are often benevolent, as well. The simplest way to think about this is to ask if your creation would have a positive effect on someone or something. If the answer is yes, it’s benevolent.
What are the dates and schedule?
There are rolling start dates and custom timelines based on your goals and budget. If you're interested in the program, please send me an email at jessica@jessicarix.com (or just go ahead and apply) and we can start the conversation.
What does the application process look like?
It's pretty simple: just answer some questions in the online application so I can learn more about your idea. Then I'll review your application and reach out to you to continue a conversation.
How much does it cost?
The workshop can be customized to fit a variety of budgets and timelines, so the cost depends on what works best for you and your idea. I typically send a variety of options once I learn more about your idea and your goals.
When is the registration deadline?
Since there are rolling start dates, each person will have a designated "registration deadline." But please be aware that I only maintain a limited number of people in the program at once, and registration is first-come, first-served. If all spaces are filled before your registration deadline, I'll keep you on a waitlist and let you know when a spot opens up again.
Is there an on-demand / recorded version?
There is not. But you know what? I thought about it. I even started building it... very briefly. And then I said, "No, this doesn't fit." So, I stopped, and I've felt great about the decision ever since because I went through a thoughtful, intentional process of developing the core and shape of this idea. And it's the same process I'll share with you.
What if I'm not sure my idea or project is a fit?
Apply anyway! It costs you nothing except a few minutes of your time. If I have follow-up questions or if I don't think this program is a fit, I'll let you know. But if any part of you thinks this could be a fit, please feel free to apply. Also, don't hesitate to reach out and ask any questions you have: jessica@jessicarix.com.
